⁴⁰ They found good, rich pasture, and the land was spacious, quiet, and peaceful. The people who had lived there previously were descended from Ham. ⁴¹ These who have been named came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah and attacked the tent camps of the Hamites. They completely destroyed the Meunites who were found there, and to this day they have lived in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks there. ⁴² Some of them, five hundred men, also descendants of Simeon, went to Mount Seir. Their leaders were Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
